Pedu Shelbe Ou: In this song Gazzman is telling us that
everyone has his own conception about life. He would rather
not tolerate someone without a plan/goal to succeed in life.
Those objectives must be a mirror to your efforts and
determination. Your are the captain of your destiny. “Pedu
Shelbe Ou” is another way to say that you are against the
unethical rules. This song is very catchy because it has some
excellent touches from the keyboard. The tempo and cymbals
were well mixed together to please the fans; the tone of the
guitar was really high and the wind section used as an
introduction to the heavy part of the song. I didn’t really
like the rap section that they inserted in the song as the
rhythm was interrupted. The nice blend of instruments keep
the song from having a monotone melody.

Why do you say you love me: Arly Lariviere is very talented
when it comes to writting love tracks. According to him, you
cannot love someone while you mistrust him/her, and if
possible you should leave the past behind in order to live
happy. His keyboard solos and his voice are two things that
you cannot ignore while listening that song. It is on heavy
rotation on every single radio station in Haiti.

Sainte Cecile: We sometimes do not think about the life of
our Haitian artists and simply emphasize on their
performances, but they do have a life. Nu-look is explaining
that they cannot even enjoy the holidays because these times
are reserved for the public. Some of them even celebrate their
birthday at the night club where they were scheduled to
play: “ Nou pa Janm gen tan”. The guitar players take over
after 3 minutes of explaining their conditions. They are
praying Sainte Cecile to give them courage and ability to
always accomplish their work. I can tell you that the
drummer was having a good time with 2 breathtaking breaks
almost at the end of the song.

Gran Depanse: reminds me a lot of “Saw Mete” (Djakout
Mizik) when it comes to the lyrics. The message from the
song: those who attend Nu-Look’s performances do not
really care about money, because this band is the band that
has the most beautiful girls in the market. Laporte delivers
big times in this song; what an excellent guitar player. The
drummer kills us by using all of his energy to increase and
accelerate the tempo and I think it works. This song is
among the hits found in that album.

Souvenir: The lyrics and melody for this love song are very
well done: “ Ou se yon istwa ke lavi a pap janm efase, menm
si ou pa bokote mwen”. He had a girlfriend and finally for
some reasons they broke the relationship. He just wanted
someone to tell that girl that his feeling has never changed.
This song is a cure for heart disease and may be the best track
on this album.

Se nan lidew sa ye: In this tracks, Nu-Look took the
opportunity to thank all the band’s supporters and
unconditional fans who always try to consolidate the band
when they face hurdles. The tempo is really heavy, a
trademark of Nu-look. In the middle of the song, you can
hear every single instrument used, also Arly also speeds up
the tempo and focus on his keys. Right after that, the drum
followed the break. The combo is really nice to hear and every
time I listen to it, I have to rewind that section. Gazzman is
at ease while singing these heavy songs, and he sure put a lot
of energy on this track.

Young Blood: This sad song is definitely for our dear country
where the youth does not really have a future. Frustration
kicks in when no viable solutions are in sight. Gazzman is
explaining the fact that nowadays, parents are the ones who
assist the funerals of their kids. He also advocates solidarity
among Haitian and encourage determination to make all
dreams come true. “ Kwem siw vle gen yon Pele nan peyi a,
yon Beyonce en Haiti”. Gazzman relates to the reality of the
country. I really enjoy the horn section and the chorus. The
tempo is also a little bit slow to better transmit the message.

Cookie: Arly is back again in this song with a mix of French
and Creole. This song is about getting in love to someone
who is under age. Arly relates the fact that he badly loved
that girl but he didn’t have the courage to tell her his secret.
The guitar is off the hook, Arly’s voice is like someone in a
big pity. Gazzman is absent on this track. Chante sa a pi red
pase yon Poem and is raising lots of questions or eyebrows to
some.

Fanm Ideal: was written by the well known guitar player:
Ralph Gonde. This is another hit on this album. The song is
really nice and very catchy from the start and the melody is
so sweet. The rhythm is cool, and Ralph’s voice is also a key
component to its success. As the title mentioned it, this girl
is everything to Ralph. Arly and Gazzman did not
collaborate in this song, but it was worth it. Ralph did
everything with his guitar, voice and lyrics to put this song
up to another level.

50 ans:  This one is a comparison between older and the new
generation. Danse plogue is now the new style of dancing
while in the past it was “Kombo Ibo”. This is a tribute to
Nemours who is the creator of Kompa Direct. Trumpet
lovers will enjoy this track, and the keyboard solos remind
those in Tropicana. The band did a flashback to show the
fans that Nu-Look is versatile and all generations can enjoy.

Monte Moun: Nothing much to say about this song and Nu-
Look could have left it behind and refine it for a future
album.

Overall: I think the band is more mature comparing to their
sophomore album. I use the word “more” because I think
their first one was already a hit and inspired a lot of
maturity. Those guys are really experimented. Every single
musician is a major asset for the Haitian market. Konpa
love, heavy konpa, old school konpa ect are all componets of
this CD. The band has the potential to become number one in
the Haitian music industry. I hope they will rejoice from a
good management and promotional team. Good luck guys!!!
